Access to Kyoto Seika University:

From JR Kyoto Station

Take the Kyoto Karasuma subway line (running north from Kyoto station) all the way to the northern terminus, Kokusai-kaikan (Kyoto International Conference Center). Go out the central ticket gates, turn right and walk to the escalator that will take you to Exit 3 on Takaragaike Street. Turn right (towards Mt. Hiei), cross the small side street and go past the phone box (about 30 meters) to the Seika shuttle bus stop (free). It takes 20 minutes from Kyoto Station to Kokusai-kaikan and 8 minutes from the bus stop to the university.

From Demachiyanagi Station, Keihan Railway and Eizan Railway

Take the Eizan Railway, Kurama Line. Take trains bound for Kurama, Ichihara, or Nikenchaya (either platform 2 or 3) to Kyoto-Seikadai-mae Station (https://eizandensha.co.jp/en/)QR code
(Do not take the train from platform 1, bound for Yase) It takes 17 minutes to Kyoto-Seikadai-mae Station.

Entry into Kyoto Seika University by car is restricted and parking is not available. Please use public transportation.

3. Presentations

You can find the latest program on this website.

Oral presentations:

Presenters will have 12 minutes for their presentations and 3 minutes discussion time. A timekeeper will ring a bell once at 10 minutes and twice at 12 minutes. The last bell will ring three times at 15 minutes to inform you of the end of your presentation. Please don’t go overtime as oral presentation sessions will be on a tight schedule.

A PC installed with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Standard 2016 (MS PowerPoint 2016) will be provided for your presentation. Presenters should come to the presentation room to transfer the data files for their presentations onto the PC that has been provided. Please transfer your files according to the following schedule.

Presentations should be prepared using Microsoft PowerPoint (either ppt or pptx), and presenters should bring their presentation file(s) on a USB flash drive. You may use your own PC with a VGA port for external display. However, you cannot extend your presentation time even if you experience trouble caused by using your own PC. Kindly contact us at least two weeks in advance if you plan to use audio equipment.

Presenters can bring and distribute their handouts before their presentations. Please note: neither Xerox copying nor printing services are available at the conference venue.

Poster presentations:

Panels (180 cm x 90 cm) will be provided for the display of posters. A poster size of A0 (120 cm x 84 cm) or smaller is recommended. You are expected to set up your own poster when you arrive at the venue. Pins will be provided. The core time for the poster presentations is from 15:00 to 16:00 on the 18th (Sat.). During that time, kindly be available at your poster to present your work. All participants can see the posters at any time.

The Executive Committee will present an award for the best poster to the one that receives the most votes from conference participants. Details will be given at the registration desk.

*Please note that the bank transfer fee should be paid by the participants.

Please fill in your full name on the official payment slip enclosed with Circular No. 2 and pay at a Japan Post Bank branch. Each participant should pay only for their own registration.

Deadline for payment by bank transfer: April 25th (Thu.) We will not accept any early bird discount payments after April 25th (Thu.). If you have transferred the fee after the deadline, you will be requested to pay the balance due at registration.

5. Accommodations and lunch

Please make reservations for your accommodation by yourself. We strongly recommend booking your accommodation as early as possible, as many tourists visit Kyoto throughout the year.

There are no restaurants or convenience stores around Kyoto Seika University due to regulations concerning landscape conservation. Lunch choices are limited. The university cafeteria will be open on the 18th (Sat.) from 10:00 to 14:00 and on the 19th (Sun.) from 11:00 to 14:00 for lunch. The convenience store on the second floor will be open only on the 18th (Sat.) from 8:00 to 16:00. You will find another café/restaurant, REATA, near the Eizan railway crossing next to the university; it will be open from 11:00 to 15:00 on both days.

6. Child Care Service

Child Care Service is available during the conference. We will take care of children aged 3 months to 8 years between 9:30-17:30 on the 18th and 9:00-16:00 on the 19th. To use the service, please send an application form to the Executive Office by email before April 18th, 16:00. Enrollment capacity is limited, so please reserve a space early.
